sparsematrix is a computational experiment in the form of an audiovisual performance derived from transcriptions of traditional rhythm patterns being subjected to conditions of sparsity, filling the event cycles primarily with silences and discovering skeletal structures which are then used as triggers for audio synthesis and artificial-life driven computer graphics algorithms controlled in real time.
